The Jacksonville Historic Tomato Bowl was named Best Public Improvement in a town under 50K population by the Texas Downtown Association in October, 2019.  Accepting the award were representatives from Jacksonville ISD, the City of Jacksonville, JEDCO, and the Chamber of Commerce.
