Jacksonville's Historic Stadium

We are proud of the Downtown Historic Tomato Bowl, located at the end of Commerce Street on Austin Street in the heart of downtown Jacksonville. One of the last remaining downtown stadiums in Texas, the Tomato Bowl has a rich 80+ year-long history. In 2025, the Tomato Bowl was voted the Best High School Stadium in Texas by Dave Campbell's Football.

Words from our students…

“I THRIVE at JISD because we have an incredible support system of JISD teachers and staff. No matter what is going on in your personal life, as soon as you walk through those doors, a teacher is always ready to welcome you with a smile and encouraging words. Our teachers are so giving, and all we have to do is receive. We truly have the best of the best in JISD!”
