The Applied Learning Community is now entering its 12th year in JISD. The program utilizes Purpose Based Learning and encourages children to learn both independently and as team members in a stimulating environment in preparation to be successful global citizens.
 
Grades K - 4 ALC classes are housed on the East Side Elementary campus, and grades 5-6 are located at Nichols Intermediate School.
