The JISD Student Ambassador Team Program
The Student Ambassador Team was established in 2015 as a way to communicate the good news of JISD to our community. The Team has been a big hit, and each year visits and speaks to civic organizations, groups, and others who ask for the Team to attend a meeting.
While routinely speaking at Rotary, Kiwanis, and Lions Clubs, the Team has also spoken to the School Board, City Council, Angelina House, toured City Hall, as well as the Fire and Police Departments, toured every facility in JISD, and greeted guests at Chamber events.
TIMELINE
- Nomination forms are submitted in April for the following school year
- Interviews are in May
- The team is selected and notified at the end of May
- The first event is in August for JISD Convocation
- The team begins to meet monthly September through May
