School Communication to Parents, Students, and Guardians

Jacksonville ISD uses various platforms to communicate with parents, students, and/or guardians.  Whether communication involves important district or campus information, incidents, or weather alerts, the platforms  below are used to contact parents and students. 
 
VERY IMPORTANT - Please check your Skyward Family Access account to ensure the correct contact information is listed.  That includes phone and email.  The phone you prefer to be called and/or texted on should be in the primary phone box.  
 
To receive Text messages from JISD through the SchoolMessenger system, you must "opt in".  To opt in, text Y to 67587 from the phone (s) you would like to receive text messages on. 
 
 
 
We use the SchoolMessenger system for staff and student/family notifications.  You will receive a call, email, and if you opted in, a text message in case of an emergency or school related updates.  These updates include weather related incidents or closings. 
 
The calls should show the campus or district phone number on the caller ID, but some report showing "unknown".  
 
 
We will post notifications on the school website at jisd.org.  Important notifications are listed under News and Events on the home page.
JISD uses several social media pages and will post notifications on the ones listed here.  PLEASE be aware that some pages are not "official" JISD pages and may not have accurate information.  These are the main JISD pages:

JISD enjoys partnerships with local media outlets, including the Jacksonville Progress, The Cherokeean Herald, and the Tyler Paper.  Local television stations also will be alerted with important notifications.
