GT Activities

Hello, G/T Families!
Welcome to the JISD Gifted and Talented program.
Exploration is our theme for this year as curiosity will lead the way!
Explorers will:
•    be challenged to discover and treasure their own unique set of gifts and talents
•    find joy in the journey by using Growth Mindset and Critical Thinking skills and looking through the lens of Compassion
•    seek adventure in Maker-Space and Genius Hour activities, and by completing Passion Projects
I am thrilled to dream big with my students as they make their mark on the world in 2022-2023.
Let’s THRIVE!
Rhonda Parker

I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (EC-4) from The University of Texas at Tyler.  Also, I attended The University of North Texas to work on a Master's Degree in Library Sciences. I have been with JISD for 13 years, 8 of those as a teacher. Prior to that, I taught pre-school and kindergarten in the private sector.

My favorite thing to do is spend time with my family. Troy and I have two grown children, their wonderful spouses, and three grandchildren. I love reading with my grands, cooking and entertaining, and traveling around Texas. "Peach" is my grand-mother name, favorite color, and ice cream flavor, too!
