Fall is the busiest time of year in Jacksonville ISD — and we love every minute of it! From festive scarecrows to the excitement of Friday Night Lights, our students and staff are all in when it comes to community involvement. Whether it's school events or local traditions, JISD is proud to be part of everything that makes our town special. We love our town, and we love showing it!

JISD offers a wide variety of electives for students of all ages — including our outstanding band program! Starting in sixth grade and continuing through high school, students have the opportunity to be part of the Jacksonville Fightin' Indian Band, a long-standing, award-winning program. For the past four years, the band has proudly competed at the State level, showcasing the talent, dedication, and tradition that define JISD.

Our JISD friends help make our district what it is — one big family! The support, collaboration, and shared spirit of students, staff, community, and parents contribute to the close-knit, inclusive environment that defines Jacksonville ISD. Together, we celebrate our traditions, lift each other up, and create lasting memories as one united district. We are proud to be Jacksonville Independent School District!

Our JISD Ambassador Team had a blast visiting the Pumpkin Wonderland in downtown Jacksonville! It’s just one more reason we love our town — full of charm, community spirit, and fall fun. Be sure to come out to the "Fall in Love with Jacksonville" event on Saturday, October 18, in downtown J'ville.

We are proud of the Downtown Historic Tomato Bowl, located at the end of Commerce Street on Austin Street in the heart of downtown Jacksonville. One of the last remaining downtown stadiums in Texas, the Tomato Bowl has a rich 80+ year-long history. In 2025, the Tomato Bowl was voted the Best High School Stadium in Texas by Dave Campbell's Football.
