REGIONAL SECONDARY EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR

Jacksonville ISD is thrilled to announce that Mrs. Cheli Vasquez, a dedicated educator at Nichols Intermediate School, has been honored with the prestigious Region 7 Secondary Teacher of the Year Award. This recognition celebrates Mrs. Vasquez’s exceptional commitment to fostering a dynamic learning environment that inspires all students.

For 18 years, Cheli has been a driving force in Jacksonville ISD, starting out as a para-professional at East Side Elementary. Her ability to connect with students contributed to a positive and supportive school community. She stood out as an enrichment aide, with her extreme creativity invigorating both students and staff.  She worked on obtaining her college degree while working at East Side, and was awarded a full scholarship through the No Excuses University Parent Scholarship program in 2017 to Ashford University.  She obtained her degree and has been a teacher for JISD for the past 5 years. She is currently an exceptional art teacher at Nichols Intermediate School.

“Cheli exemplifies the qualities we value in our educators: creativity, compassion, and a relentless pursuit of excellence," said Brad Stewart, Superintendent of Jacksonville ISD. "We are immensely proud of Cheli and grateful for her remarkable contributions to our district. This award is a testament to her hard work and the profound impact she has on our students."

The Regional Teacher of the Year Award highlights the outstanding achievements of educators who go above and beyond to make a difference in their students’ lives. Cheli’s recognition is a reflection of the district’s commitment to supporting and celebrating exceptional teaching.

Please join us in congratulating Cheli Vasquez on this well-deserved accolade. Her enthusiasm continues to set a high standard for educational excellence in our district.
