Myth: Can Board only change dress code?

Question:  Is it true that only the school board can change the dress code, and no one else has a say?

JISD Answer:    Mostly False

The student dress code or standardized dress was developed by a team of Jacksonville stakeholders quite some time ago.  The school board does have final approval of dress code through the adoption of the student code of conduct each school year.  The dress code portion is reviewed by the dress code committee comprised of JISD stakeholders and submitted to the board for approval.  Thanks for your question!
