JMS 7th Grade Girls Choir

Members of the Jacksonville Middle School Choir traveled to Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches on March 31st and April 1st to compete in UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Contest. At these competitions each choir performs three songs on stage that they have prepared for the three judges. In addition, the choirs sight-read perform a piece of music that they have never seen before for three other judges. Each judge rates the choir from 1 to 5 with 1 being superior. This year the choirs had an extremely tough judging panel.

JMS 8th Grade Girls Choir The 7th and 8th grade boys’ choir competed excellently, receiving a 2 on stage and a 2 in sight-reading. The 7th and 8th grade girls’ choir did a exceptional job in competition, receiving a 1 on stage and a 1 in sight-reading. Because of these superior ratings the 7th and 8th grade girls’ choir received a Sweepstakes trophy!

JMS 7th and 8th Grade Boys Choir Congratulations to all the members of the JMS Choirs who participated in this competition. They did a fantastic job representing JMS and the city of Jacksonville. Both choirs are under the direction of Erin Blankenship.
