A Good Time at JMS

“Come on Down!” This popular phrase was heard Tuesday, November 27th at Jacksonville Middle School where 285 7th and 8th grade students attended The Attitude is Right Reward Party. The party, a compensation for successfully following the guidelines set-up: No zeros in the gradebook, No unexcused absences, No office referrals, and No more than one step in any class. According to principal Lisa Herron, “We offer a reward party each six weeks based on the guidelines and students have really responded favorably.”

Students answered questions using hand-held response units with the fastest correct answer earning a trip to the stage to participate in an activity. Activities included Plinko, the Shell Game, Throw the Dice, Basketball, Golf and Musical Chairs. Everyone came away a winner as prizes were distributed to the audience members as well as those who participated in games.

The next reward party, which is kept secret until time for students to attend will be held at the beginning of the fourth six weeks in January.
