March 13-14, 2008
The 2008 theme for Texas Public School Week, "Lift Off To Learning," fit perfectly with the annual Fred Douglass Kite Day. The day is set aside for students and parent volunteers to fly kites during the child's PE class.
Teachers take the opportunity to gear instruction to a weather study to compliment the activity.
