The 2nd Annual Walk Night was a blast. Thank you to everyone who extended themselves for the wonderful family event for our elementary campuses. The event is unique in that it offers something for everyone in our district. It is a friendly competition for our four elementary campuses, offers positive family time, and offers health promotion through many community agencies.

Enjoy the Slide Show of the Event

The JHS Drumline started the event, the Trinity Mother France helicopter and Jacksonville Fire Department showed off their equipment, the DJ entertained, the JMS and JHS cheerleaders, Nichols and JMS student council members motivated the walkers throughout the walking path, the Charmers danced and there were over 160 ACTIVITY producing door prizes plus 4 bikes given away to our students. Dement's Gym was giving parents free passes to the gym, and various agencies, Crisis Center, Hope, Crown Home Health, and Cherokee County Health Department, Access-Star, and Trinity Mother Frances sharing health information.

Matt Montgomery did a fantastic job announcing the event, and Theresa Carr made the GPS coordinates and navigated our path. JISD police, Marvin and Joey great job keeping everyone safe! Olen and Mike, and the Support Center staff made the grounds of JHS beautiful. Volunteer coordinator, Pam Frederick did a wonderful job and the PTO's for all four campuses worked hard and had a great time greeting the families. Most of all, the families who walked the cross-country track were engaged in a healthy event!
