Two New Flags Presented in Honor of
Texas Public School Week
March 13, 2008
It was a very special morning for East Side students with the presentation of two new flags by State Representative Chuck Hopson and Brent Stahelin of the Woodmen of the World organization. The United States flag and Texas flag were presented to the school in honor of Texas Public School Week.

Following a few words by Vice Principal Jodi Alderete to students and staff present at the morning ceremony, Mr. Stahelin and Rep. Hopson presented the flags to students in the Gifted and Talented program. As patriotic music played and the pledges to state and country were recited, the students hoisted the new American flag and state of Texas flag to their new home high above East Side Elementary.
