Judy Terry, Jacksonville ISD Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, had some good news to share as she presented the preliminary results of the 2008-09 state TAKS assessment at the regular Board of Trustees meeting on Monday, June 15. For starters, West Side Elementary will be the only JISD campus to ever two times consecutively earn the distinction of “Exemplary” in the Texas Education Agency’s (TEA) school ranking system. Two other JISD elementary schools will progress in status from “Recognized” to “Exemplary”, and the remaining campuses in the district will barely miss moving up in the ranking system.
