Applied Learning Community

The JISD Applied Learning Community (ALC) program is available on two campuses.  For elementary, East Elementary houses the ALC and for 5th and 6th graders, Nichols Intermediate offers ALC classes.  Please use the links below to read more about our ALC campuses.

The Applied Learning Community is now entering its sixth year in JISD. The program encourages children to learn both independently and as team members in a stimulating environment in preparation to be successful global citizens.  Grades K - 4 ALC classes are housed on the East Side Elementary campus, and grades 5-6 are located at Nichols Intermediate School.

The ALC program accepts applicants throughout the school year. If you are interested in learning more about JISD's Applied Learning Program in grades K-6th please contact the program coordinator.
