Philosophy
JISD school health services believes that along with parents, community, and school, we will promote normal development of the child through health education and positive attitudes in healthful living by strictly following Texas Department of State Health Services guidelines, which should create an environment for the child that promotes optimal learning.
The district employs full-time LVNs and clinic assistants in each elementary, intermediate, middle school, and high school campus. 3 district RNs rotate to each campus to assist students with all healthcare needs. Fred Douglass Elementary, Nichols Intermediate, Jacksonville High School and Compass Center do not have a full-time nurse in the clinic.
